About This Event
Play It is a dynamic role-play contest that brings Shakespeare’s classic drama to life. Participants perform the iconic balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet, exploring the romance, emotion, and intensity of the play. Working in pairs, performers step into the shoes of Romeo and Juliet to showcase their acting skills. The event emphasizes dialogue delivery, expressions, coordination, and stage presence. It provides an entertaining and enriching experience for both the audience and participants alike.
Rules & Guidelines
- Participants must perform in pairs (Romeo and Juliet).
- The performance should focus on Act 2, Scene 2 of Romeo and Juliet.
- Emphasis will be on dialogue delivery, expressions, coordination, and stage presence.
- Participants can use minimal props, but they must be relevant to the scene.
- Time limit for performance: 5–7 minutes.
- Judging will be based on creativity, performance quality, and adherence to the scene.
- Both UG and PG students are eligible.
